If you have played pickleball for any length of time, I am sure you have noticed your paddle face gets dirt and debris on it. A paddle face has tiny grooves on the face and over time the grooves will fill up with plastic particles from striking the ball as well as dirt from the court. Smudges on your paddle do not look good and also the increased dirt prevents you from creating the necessary spin you paddle can provide.
The experts state if you play with a carbon fiber paddle, erasers are very safe to use but always consult with the paddle/eraser manufacturer regardless of what type of paddle you use.
I currently play with the Selkirk AMPED Control - Invikta which has a fiberglass paddle face. I noticed within a few days of playing with it the paddle face became dirty.
When using a paddle eraser, place it in the palm of your hand and very gently rub the eraser on your paddle surface. Use a soft cloth to wipe off any risidue and repeat if necessary.
If you cannot find an eraser you feel comfortable with, using a damp lint-free cloth will work wonders also. Just be sure and dry the surface after cleaning.
