Major League Pickleball (MLP) is a professional pickleball league that features top players competing in a unique team-based format. Unlike traditional pickleball tournaments, where players compete individually or in pairs, MLP teams consist of both men and women who compete in a series of matches, including mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles.

Key Features of MLP:

Team-Based Format: Players are drafted into teams, typically consisting of four players (two men, two women).

MLP Scoring System: Matches follow a rally-scoring format, meaning points can be scored on every serve, making games fast-paced and exciting.

DreamBreaker™: If a match is tied at 2-2, the final tiebreaker is a singles-style rotational match where each player on the team takes turns playing one-on-one.

Promotion and Relegation: The league features different levels, with teams competing to stay in the top tier or move up from the lower divisions.

The league is part of a broader effort to professionalize pickleball, alongside the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP), which run more traditional individual competitions.
